Onboarding/Education Officer

Nursing - Aged Care (Healthcare & Medical) A full-time opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Enrolled Nurse or qualified educator/trainer to join our team at Merrimac Park, a 96-bed modern yet well-established Gold Coast Aged Care Service, offering high-quality levels of accommodation and privacy.
The service is set amongst privately owned acreage, located just minutes from Central Gold Coast with the Robina Hospital and Robina Town Centre Shopping Centre.
The Onboarding/Education Officer will be responsible for the orientation and ongoing support of all new staff and will provide a robust mentoring program to our AINs, both current and new, as well as being responsible for conducting and maintaining records for monthly mandatory education.
The Officer will prioritize their work within established policies, guidelines, and procedures, and will be accountable for their performance.
A high level of knowledge and skill is required to educate staff and ensure a high level of care is provided to our residents.
Minimum Requirements:Training and education experience essentialStrong working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality StandardsCurrent Practicing Registration with AHPRA if applicableAged care experience is essential - Minimum 12 months experienceDementia qualifications and experience will be highly regardedExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a "Can do" attitudeKnowledge of AN-ACC, SIRS, Restrictive practices, and the Aged Care Quality StandardsHigh level of computer literacy including use of clinical softwareCurrent national police certificateMust be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work visaMust be living in Queensland Gold CoastTasks Include:Developing and maintaining the onboarding program for new staffProviding mentorship, support, and guidance to new staff with a focus on AIN staffingCompleting toolbox sessions with staff when gaps are identified by the clinical teamReporting to the Centre Manager on performance assessments, competencies, and areas of improvementBeing the contact person for new staff to ask questions, get advice, and access general support when commencing as a new staff memberSupervising and coordinating the work of Enrolled Nurses and AINsWhat Merrimac Park Private Care can offer you:Meal provisions supplied for meal breaks - bread, spreads, assorted salad items, fresh fruit bowls, tea/coffee, chilled water, cordials, and flavored milksWork in a supported and fun learning environmentOpportunity to enhance and grow your skillsOpportunity to work with experienced professionals in Nursing, Allied Health, and Qualified ChefsFlexible family-friendly working hoursOnsite parking in secure groundsTemporary onsite private accommodation available #J-18808-Ljbffr
