About the Opportunity: Are you an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in enterprise-wide digital transformation projects?
Fortescue is embarking on a significant initiative to standardise Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) processes across the organisation, transitioning from a legacy system (BMS) to a centralised platform that will serve as a single source of truth.
You will play a crucial role in supporting this digital transformation project, working closely with the HSEC Digital Transformation team to streamline data processes and enhance system reliability.
The initial contract will be for 12 months, with potential for extension as the project evolves.
About You: We are seeking a Data Engineer with significant experience in technology projects, particularly those involving HSE technology platforms.
You should possess technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
Advanced SQL skills are essential for querying and manipulating data, and experience with database design and optimisation is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, as you'll collaborate with various stakeholder groups across geographies.

Key Responsibilities: Support the HSEC Digital Transformation team with data activities and deliverables.Analyse and organise raw data to drive insights and improvements.Build data systems and pipelines for enhanced data management.Evaluate business needs and objectives, providing tailored data solutions.Manage and interpret trends and patterns within data sets.Conduct complex data analysis and report findings to key stakeholders.Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling, developing algorithms and prototypes.Combine raw data from multiple system sources to improve quality and reliability.Identify data acquisition opportunities and implement solutions for better data integration.Professional Skills: Significant experience in technology projects, particularly in HSE technology platforms.Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.Advanced SQL skills for querying and manipulating data; experience in database design and optimisation.Experience in developing interactive applications using Streamlit, including knowledge of application deployment and integration.Familiarity with Snowflake and AWS tech stack (Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, S3, Kafka, Kinesis, RDS, EC2).Experience with Azure AD, SSO, SAML, GitHub, Terraform, Docker, and Containers.The Benefits: Be part of a long-term, high-impact digital transformation project.Opportunity to work with a leading organisation in the mining industry.Flexible working arrangements with a mix of office and remote work.Collaborative and supportive team environment with experienced professionals.How to Apply: If this opportunity resonates with you, please apply.
