With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network.
This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
The CQ Region covers an area of about 604,824km2, approximately 34.9% of Queensland.
Its landscape ranges from beautiful coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breath-taking rock formations.
The region has an estimated residential population of 422,141 people.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
Administer engineering consultant contracts under the Infrastructure Building and Construction Panel (IBCP) for the preparation and/or delivery of transport planning projects and asset management (including structures) programs, standards, policies, and guidelines.Proactively manage, in accordance with the department's standards, guidelines and policies, the resource requirements associated with the delivery of road transport planning projects and asset management including procurement, financial reporting, contractor reviews whilst demonstrating a high standard of professionalism and ethics.Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects and undertake monthly project activities including financial forecasting, accruals and project performance reporting.Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to.Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.Contribute towards the wider objectives and priorities of the Project Planning and Corridor Management (PPCM) as required from time to time, including but not limited to, the formulation of planning and investment programs, and the participation in technical working groups.Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions: A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.A current Class 'C' Drivers LicenceHow to Apply: Apply online through the Smart Jobs and careers website www.smartjobs.qld.gov.au or if you want further information on the position contact Vickie Wood on (07) 4951 8***.
