Company Secretary Permanent position Sydney based Hybrid working model How will I help?
The Company Secretary, Corporate Governance supports the Head of Corporate Governance & Policy in providing corporate governance guidance to Business Partners, and in delivering key corporate governance deliverables, strategic matters, and special projects relevant to our stakeholders (including the Westpac Board).
Some of the key accountabilities are:  Assisting with the preparation of Westpac's Corporate Governance Statement, including engaging with a range of stakeholders to prepare relevant disclosures.
Coordinating the Group Secretariat divisions' contributions to Westpac's half year and full year financial reporting suite.
Assisting with the annual disclosure letter process, lodging ASX announcements and completing regulatory filings.
Providing guidance in relation to APRA prudential standard CPS 510.
Developing and refining internal policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
Providing practical and professional guidance on corporate governance matters and acting as a subject matter expert for governance and Group Secretariat projects, as requested by the Head of Corporate Governance and Policy or the Group Company Secretary.

What do I need?
Experience working in company secretariat/governance or corporate legal fields, ideally with ASX-listed companies.
An understanding of the Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules and ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations.
Demonstrated capability to manage projects on an end-to-end basis.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills both written and verbal.
A diligent approach to completing tasks, and strong attention to detail.
