About Tasmania Government About the Tasmanian State ServiceThe Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.Responsibilities:Provide expert recommendations and advice to the Immunisation Nurse Manager on matters related to the provision of vaccine for state and national immunisation program vaccines in Tasmania.Coordinate the Immunisation Program vaccine ordering process by accepting and quality assessing orders received from immunisation providers, ensuring compliance with the funded National Immunisation Program requirements, and processing these orders through to the Agency's vaccine storage and distribution contractor.Monitor distribution of vaccine supplies, liaise with stakeholders, and contribute to the general functions and activities of the Communicable Disease Prevention Unit through program and project support functions, including database management, research, planning, training, documentation, and coordination of activities.Key Skills:Experience in the collection and management of immunisation data.Demonstrated knowledge of and relevant experience in project management and support skills, with the ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail within set guidelines and time frames.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Ability to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, managing differing priorities.Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases to collect and report health-related data.Proven ability to investigate issues and problem solve, including the ability to research, recall, interpret, and analyse information and recommend an appropriate course of action.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team:The Immunisation team sits within the Communicable Disease Prevention Unit (CDPU) in Public Health Services.
The primary purpose of CDPU is prevention and control of communicable diseases within Tasmania, including mitigation of associated risks and threats.Why Tasmania?The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
