Location: Sydney, Australia
Nature and aim of the positionIn this pivotal role as a Senior Network Engineer, you will integrate into a great team of senior network engineers at the forefront of shaping and nurturing our expansive worldwide data center networks.
Your core mandate will involve architecting, designing, implementing, and operating cutting-edge enterprise data solutions, thereby ensuring an impervious security envelope encasing our data centers.
The role challenges you to harmonize efficiency with security, envisaging a network environment that stands not only highly available and automated but also agile, swiftly adapting to evolving needs and technological advancements.
Guided by our strategic vision, you will spearhead initiatives that ensure the professional quality and timely delivery of services, reflecting our steadfast commitment to excellence and innovation as we forge ahead in this exciting chapter of substantial expansion in Australia.
Main duties and responsibilitiesThe holder of the position is responsible for:
Planning, documenting and performing of network changes/extensions, especially in datacentresOrchestration/Automation of firewall rules and underlying network settingsDesigning and documenting the corporate network architecture (LAN/WAN/WLAN/SECURITY)Data centre network security consultancy for internal departments & projectsOperating and monitoring of the corporate network infrastructureProviding 2nd level network infrastructure related supportDesigning network aspects of disaster recovery and operational securityMaintaining, auditing and improving corporate network & security standardsPerforming network related root cause analysis (RCA) and problem resolutionDefining, monitoring and reporting KPIs for network services/devicesManaging proof of concepts, feasibility studies etc.Investigating into new technologies & security improvementsWriting of white papers and documentationsActing as project leader for network related activities/projectsReporting and collaborationThe holder of the position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Network & Telecommunications.
The position requires close collaboration within Compute, Security, Field Service, Application Support, Service Center departments and project/product managers.
Profile and educationRelevant network/IT related education (academic degree preferred)Excellent understanding of corporate network & data centre application architecture conceptsExcellent analyzing skillsExcellent understanding of at least four of the technical areas below:Datacentre security & firewall infrastructure (Multivendor) - mandatoryVPN technologies/infrastructureNetwork technologies (Layer1-Layer4)Good communication & technical writing skillsGood team-playerIndependent, goal-oriented and self-motivating personalityPassion to deliver high quality standard levelsAccuracy and high risk awarenessWillingness to perform standby on-callsSpecific skills and knowledgeMin 5 years of professional experience as datacentre network engineerPractical experience in enterprise network & security Plan/Build/Run setupWork experience within an international/multicultural environment preferredAbility to work with teams distributed in different time zones #J-18808-Ljbffr
