Job Title: Project Director – Hillside ExecutionLocation: South Australia (Site-based after the first year)Package: Competitive Salary PackageAbout the OpportunityREX Minerals is embarking on an exciting three-year journey to execute the Hillside Project, one of South Australia's flagship copper-gold resource developments.
We are seeking an exceptional Project Director to lead this once in a career project.In this pivotal role, you will drive the project from conception through design, construction, commissioning, and final handover to the operating teams.
You'll have full accountability for delivering the project safely, on time, within scope and budget, while building a positive, diverse and collaborative working culture.Key Responsibilities• Leadership: Provide visible safety leadership and foster a strong, positive and diverse workplace culture.• Project Delivery: Oversee planning, site execution, and commissioning of various project components, including, but not limited to, the processing plant, tailings storage facility (TSF), and other non-process infrastructure (NPI).• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the project to regulators, government agencies, local communities, and senior executives.• Risk and Compliance: Manage project risks, contracts, and ensure compliance with regulatory commitments.• Financial Oversight: Maintain stringent financial controls and progress reporting throughout the project lifecycle.• Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing project team, ensuring alignment with project objectives.About YouYou are a results-driven leader with a proven track record of delivering large-scale EPCM projects in the resources sector.
You thrive in complex environments, demonstrate strategic thinking, and possess exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Key Skills and Experience:• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation highly regarded)• 15+ years' experience in project delivery within the resources industry across all facets of mine and processing plant development.• Demonstrated leadership in managing large technical teams and engaging with EPCM partners.• Strong commercial acumen with advanced problem-solving abilities.• Proven ability to work on-site during construction and commissioning phases.• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach.Project Overview• Duration: Three years.• Site-Based Role: Following the first year, the successful candidate will be required to reside on or close to the site of operations.• Scope: Includes infrastructure, site services, processing plant, and compliance with environmental and legislative requirements.Why Join REX Minerals?This is a rare opportunity to play a key leadership role in one of South Australia's most significant mining projects.
