Retail Analytics Data Engineer

Your main responsibilities will be working closely with the Founder, COO and Senior Data Engineers to collect, blend and manage our datasets using SQL and ETL tools, and to build Tableau dashboards that provide retail insights to some of the world's biggest retailers.The ideal candidate's favorite words are learning, data, scale, and agility.
You will leverage your strong collaboration skills and ability to extract valuable insights from highly complex data sets to ask the right questions and find the right answers.What you'll do :Collaborate with the Founder, COO and Data Engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to productionCollaborate with peer-level counterparts from our customers' analytics teams to gather requirements, perform data mapping, and collect feedbackLead data workstreams end-to-end, from requirements gathering, to data mapping and design, ETL build, data visualisation, and automationAnalyze raw retail data : assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processingBuild and maintain our large and growing SQL datasets and base of Alteryx workflows that power our analytics platformBring in and discuss new trends / tools into our team, proactively helping the product stay ahead.Work with our technology stack of Snowflake (SQL), Alteryx (ETL), GCP (Cloud) and Tableau (Visualisation) and become an expert in these technologies.RequirementsEligibilityOpen to candidates residing in Sydney, Australia with full Australian working rights.Essential SkillsA Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Software Development, Data Analytics or a related disciplineMastered relational database concepts and at least 2 years professional experience working in SQL, including experience in building robust and extensible data pipelines to / from secure, performant and well-modelled data stores.Eagerness to embrace our tech stack (Snowflake, Alteryx, Tableau, GCP) and upskill quickly where needed, primarily via self-learning.Passed the Alteryx Designer Core Certification, or willingness to learn as part of the interview process and be competent to pass the prior to commencing the role.At least 2 years professional experience building and scheduling ETL workflows to blend and process data from multiple sources, with Alteryx or an equivalent platformHighly proficient in data cleansing including regex, data transpose / crosstab, join, group, union, etcGood stakeholder management skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsUsed to working autonomouslyOther Highly Desirable SkillsExperience building data visualizations in a modern data viz platform such as TableauExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud or AWSAbout youTechnical : You love working with data to derive insights and build powerful data visualisations.
