DroneShield (ASX : DRO) offers an opportunity to solve some of the world's most challenging technical problems in the Electronic Warfare, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, RF sensing, Sensor Fusion, and distributed systems.
Working with high profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure, law enforcement, and many others.With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing a hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney.
There are approximately 200 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by the end of 2026.
Overseas on-the-ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany, and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.About the roleDroneShield is seeking an Electronics Test Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, NSW.The position will report to the VP of Quality.
This role will be responsible for the informal and formal electronics testing of DroneShield prototypes and production units as well as managing compliance testing with external parties.
This will include the writing of test plans and recording of results.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsConsult with various teams to understand testing requirements and product requirementsWrite up test plans and test reportsDevelop in-house testing rigs and set up test equipmentConduct electronics testing in-houseCoordinate with external parties for product certification and testing not possible within DroneShieldThorough understanding of electronics test standardsCommunicate findings with various teams and suggest product improvementsQualifications, Experience and SkillsDegree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or relevant experience requiredExperience in writing test plans and recording resultsExperience in setting up test equipment and sourcing test equipment from suppliersExperience certifying products to FCC, CE, and military standards in-house or externallyExperience in conducting common electronics tests such as reliability, temperature cycling, failure analysisAltium experience favourableAbility to read schematicsDebugging and fault-finding experience favourableDemonstrate excellent communication skillsSuitable to hold a security clearance if requiredNote for recruitment agencies: we do not accept floated candidates from external recruiters unless they were instructed to do so.PI257093856#J-18808-Ljbffr
