General Manager Health Safety and RiskJob SummaryAs the General Manager of Health Safety and Risk you will lead a team of around 28 focused on creating and leading a culture of proactive risk management as part of a program of safety, quality and risk improvement initiatives.
Your program of work will have an emphasis on the settings of strategy and the provision of processes, support and advice for leaders and employees, to uphold the highest standards of workplace health and safety, quality and risk across all areas of Field Services, in accordance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
You will be a strategic thinker, taking a thought leadership role working across Field Services and the wider Telstra ecosystem.
One of your first programs will involve supporting the development and rollout of our new Health & Safety system of work.Job Description
What you'll doFoster a Culture of Safety and Risk Excellence: Promote a health, safety, quality, and risk focus within field services and across the broader Telstra organisation.
Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to field services and its senior leadership team on best practices in health, safety, quality, and risk management.
Oversight and Reporting: Support the group owner/executive in refining an effective oversight and reporting framework for health, safety, quality, and risk, aligned with corporate frameworks and tools.
Local Policy Development: Develop and implement health, safety, quality, environmental and risk management policies, and procedures that support field services and align with corporate standards and requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality and risk regulations and standards.
Awareness and Compliance Programs: Develop and implement programs to ensure all employees and managers are aware of and able to comply with policies and procedures, and that compliance can be measured and demonstrated.
Audit Management: Manage a team that conducts regular safety, quality, environmental, and risk audits to identify areas for improvement.
Corrective Action Plans: Develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified risks and issues.
Team Management: Manage the health, safety, and risk team, including hiring and performance management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other functions to ensure health, safety, environmental, quality and risk management policies and procedures are integrated into all aspects of the organisation.
Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with central centres of expertise, external agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the organisation remains up to date on all relevant health, safety, environment, quality, and risk regulations.
What you need to succeedAs subject matter expert in your field, you will have a sound understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and will champion this, ensuring our safety programs are always compliant, working with all directorates of the organisation and bringing these key stakeholders along on the journey.
Your role will serve as a catalyst for transformation, spearheading significant cultural change across Field Services and wider across the organisation.
Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a collaborative environment and driving innovative solutions that align with Health Safety, Quality & Risk Management.
