This is a permanent full-time role based in BRISBANE. What you'll do as a Journalist: As a journalist with 10 News First you will organize news coverage, originate, research and produce news stories of high quality.
Functions will also include:
Generating story ideas from scratch through to broadcastWorking under extreme time pressures to meet multiple daily deadlinesWorking unsupervised to ideate and execute highly complex stories with minimal management inputAbility to report live on all breaking news eventsCovering Chief of Staff shift at any timePitching stories on a regular basisRegularly lining-up or supervising a bulletin when required by managementIdeating, creating, and publishing assets including video, graphics, stills and running live coverage from planning to publishing across platformsWhat are we looking for in a Journalist?

Solid news judgement, logistically savvyStrong communication skillsAbility to make decisions under extreme pressurePrevious experience as a television News Journalist with at least 2 years' experience (strong track record in daily radio, digital or print could be considered)Extensive understanding of local, national and international issues and a strong willingness to embrace the concept of supplying content for multiple audiences across different platformsKnowledge of ENPS and non-linear editing is a bonusAbility to work across different shifts and/or some weekendsHigh level understanding and application of media lawWhy Paramount?
