This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.
The Pilbara school psychology service is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed school psychologist to deliver psychological services and support to a mix of both high and primary schools in and around the Tom Price network.
The successful applicant will make up a team of three school psychologists in Tom Price, and will join a collaborative, dynamic, and vibrant team of 20+ psychologists across the Pilbara region.
School psychologists working in the Tom Price network in 2025 receive a District Allowance of $9,299 per year in addition to a competitive salary and other benefits.
Located in the Heart of the Pilbara, Tom Price is a picturesque, modern and fully serviced town designed to blend with the natural environment.
The town sits in the shadows of Jarndunmunha (Mount Nameless) amongst rolling landscapes of red granite hills and is the gateway to the natural wonders of the Karajini and Millstream National Park.
The town itself has all the amenities required for comfortable country living and all are conveniently situated centrally, along with great sport and recreation facilities.
Tom Price lends itself to either the quiet, relaxed country lifestyle or is fantastic for the outdoor adventurer.
Within the proximity of town is some amazing hiking, 4wd'ing, camping and swimming opportunities.
And just 40 minutes from town is the natural playground that is Karajini National Park with its awe-inspiring panoramas, natural rock pools, ancient rock formations and rock art, and wildflowers, the area brims with unique, diverse, and wildly coloured landscapes.
The Role The School Psychologist is responsible for delivering direct psychological services to identified clients, applying psychological skills and knowledge to improve mental health, learning and behavioural outcomes for students in collaboration with school personnel, parents, caregivers, and other agencies.
They will assist with the development and implementation of school-based support services and programs and operate as a member of a collaborative and coordinated regional school psychology team.
The successful applicant will ideally have strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
They will demonstrate a commitment to their own professional growth and development and possess the ability to work together with the school administration to develop whole-school initiatives to enhance the well-being of all members of the school community.
