Job Role: Hardware Engineer The Hardware Engineer will be engaged in the design, development, integration, verification and support of electronic surveillance systems for the ADF.
The Hardware Engineer will assist the project team in:
Specific Duties Include: Deriving system requirements and performing functional analysis; Developing system architectures optimised against key performance and environmental requirements; Developing detailed designs from system requirements; Participating in formal system and hardware design reviews; Transitioning designs into safe products through procurement and manufacture; Conducting hardware, software and firmware integration; Developing Test Plans, Test Procedures and Analysis Test Reports; Executing and participating in formal system qualification activities; Development of product documentation including design documentation, training material and handbooks; Participating in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Personal Attributes: Well developed and practical communication and people development skills; Ability to use sound problem solving techniques to provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems; Ability to multi-task across a range of business software development activities; Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally across functional teams to achieve goals; Instil a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in delivering on time and within budget; Demonstrates behaviours that align with and promote company's "ASPIRE" values.
Experience/Knowledge: High speed digital architectures; Digital Signal Processing techniques; HDL design experience and FPGA implementation; Conducting hardware, software and firmware integration; Good understanding of EIA-632 Systems Engineering design methodology; Experience in working collaboratively in a multi-discipline engineering team to deliver quality outcomes on time and within cost constraints; Demonstrated commitment to WHS procedures and practices.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent); At least 5 years' experience in hardware design involving embedded systems is desirable; Familiarity with the processes and governance requirements in developing product for the Australian Defence Organisation.
