Engraving & Workshop Assistant

Recently, we expanded our legacy by launching a new range of silverware, available through our eCommerce website, allowing customers to experience our craftsmanship from anywhere in the world.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as anEngraving and Workshop Assistant.This role involves managing and facilitating the engraving and personalisation of our silverware items using both drag and laser engraving machines. Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, CAD software is essential, as it will be an integral part of your duties. When not engaged in engraving, you will serve as a general hand in the workshop, supporting the day-to-day production and restoration services that are central to our operations.
Key Responsibilities: Operate drag and laser engraving machines to produce high-quality engravings on various metalware and trophy related items.Utilise CAD software to design and prepare items for engraving.Work closely with the ecommerce manager to understand personalisation needs and ensure specifications are met with precision.Hallmark all new silverware ranges, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintain documentation of hallmarking requirements.Polish silverware to remove scratches and marks, ensuring a perfect finish.Conduct quality control (QC) checks on silverware products before and after engraving, and during the final preparation of all new silverware ranges.Pack silverware items to ensure they maintain their flawless appearance.Assist with the maintenance and care of engraving equipment and tools.Support the workshop team with general tasks, including production assistance and restoration work.Help maintain an organised, clean, and efficient workshop environment.Uphold the high standards of craftsmanship and customer service that WJ Sanders and Company is known for.Requirements: Experience with or willingness to learn drag and laser engraving techniques.Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn CAD software for engraving design.An eye for detail, steady hands, and a commitment to precision work.A collaborative attitude and the ability to work well in a team setting.A passion for traditional craftsmanship and an eagerness to learn.Excellent communication skills and the ability to professionally interact with clients.What We Offer: A unique opportunity to work with a historic and respected Australian brand.A part-time role with potential for growth and additional responsibilities.Hands-on experience in a traditional craft with modern applications.A supportive and close-knit team environment where your skills and contributions are valued.How to Apply: If you are passionate about craftsmanship, eager to learn, and have the skills or willingness to develop in engraving and workshop support, we want to hear from you.
