Purpose of Position: We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer on a permanent full-time basis to join our Australian team based in either our Perth, Brisbane or Newcastle office.
The role of the Project Engineer will look after our MineOperate Portfolio through providing site-based project delivery services and remote technical assistance to a growing range of clients in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
MineOperate Portfolio: Open Pit Pro mining Fleet Management System - Low & High PrecisionOpen Pit Foundation mining Fleet Management SystemAsset Health mining equipment health management systemSpecific Duties: Assist with installation, commissioning and supporting of Hexagon Mining technology from the office and on site in remote locationsDeploy and upgrade MineOperate systems and work closely with our project managers for a successful delivery outcomeProvide training, instruction and advice to our customers on the effective use and operation of our solutions in their operationTroubleshooting and configuration of hardware and softwareConduct pre-sales tasks including configuration testing and field trialsAssist sales teams with technical expertise relating to sales proposals and other sales requirementsMajor Areas of Responsibility: Installing, configuring and commissioning Hexagon's operational systems etc.
for new deployments and upgradesIdentifying issues and opportunities for improvement with Hexagon Mining operational systems installed at customer mine sites and re-configuring systems as requiredTaking ownership and responsibility for customer issues and problems and seeing them through to resolution wherever possibleProviding training to operators and other customer personnel in the use and operation of systems at client sitesPreparing scoping and requirements documentationPreparing reports on the performance of the deployed solution at the client site and recommendations for improvements as requiredUtilising relationships developed with customers and other contacts to advise sales team of potential issues affecting customers as well as other opportunities for Hexagon MiningCompliance with Hexagon Mining's Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures (and those of clients' sites visited), participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and oneself and the safety of othersBe available for on call for support as required (escalations primarily)Attend site and company meetings in person or remotelyRepresenting Hexagon Mining in a helpful, professional and courteous manner at all timesOther duties as required from time to time.Skills and Experience Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skillsKeen interest in providing a superior level of customer service and support to our clientsWillingness to learn new skills and be trained in Hexagon productsAbility to work proactively with minimal supervisionAbility to work effectively in a local and global team environmentDegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Software Engineering or related fieldsExperience with Linux OS and shell scriptingExperience with scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, Ruby on RailsKnowledge of C++ OR Objective-C programming languagesExperience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server)Experience working in the mining industry.
