Decommissioning And Archival Analyst

This Federal Government agency is the national end-to-end regulator of aged care services and the primary point of contact for consumers and providers in relation to quality and safety.Due to ongoing technology uplifts, there is an opportunity for a Decommissioning and Archiving Analyst to join the Digital and ICT Division. This role will be integral to ensuring operational excellence in ICT lifecycle management and archival processes. You will be responsible for the systematic decommissioning of obsolete ICT systems and ensuring secure data archiving according to governance and compliance requirements.This will involve coordinating closely with various stakeholders to document decommissioning procedures, perform data extraction, and transfer legacy data to archival solutions. These processes will be repeated for other business applications that are no longer required operationally yet have valuable corporate history that must be preserved. You will analyse and report on the effectiveness of the decommissioning processes and archival solutions, to provide informed suggestions for improvement.Key AccountabilitiesLead and coordinate the decommissioning of legacy systems and ensure archival processes align with organisational policies and legislative requirements.Develop and implement strategies for effective data extraction, migration, and archival to preserve information integrity and accessibility.Collaborate with ICT stakeholders to identify systems ready for decommissioning and schedule appropriate actions.Manage projects related to system decommissioning and data archiving, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.Conduct audits and quality assurance activities to verify the completeness and accuracy of data archiving and decommissioning practices.Provide expert advice and guidance on technical and process issues related to digital decommissioning and archiving.Document procedures and outcomes related to decommission and archiving activities to maintain compliance with internal and external audit requirements.Coordinate and liaise with third-party providers to ensure service agreements are met, particularly pertaining to data security and proper disposal of decommissioned assets.Evaluate and recommend improvements to current decommissioning and archiving processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.Develop training and support materials to assist ICT staff and end-users in understanding decommissioning and archival processes and tools.Key CapabilitiesProficiency in handling large-scale data migration, storage solutions and ensuring compliance with data protection laws and government policies e.g. Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).Knowledge of various decommissioning tools and software, including data erasure and data backup technologies.Familiarity with cloud technologies and operational strategies.Capability to develop and implement decommissioning strategies that minimise disruptions to ongoing operations and maximise data integrity.Excellent analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of archiving systems and propose enhancements and the ability to assess technical debt.Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with cross-functional units to drive decommissioning and data archiving initiatives.Experience in documenting decommissioning processes and outcomes, ensuring clear and concise reporting is maintained for audit and compliance purposes.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of explaining complex technical processes to non-technical stakeholders.Capacity to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Must have Baseline clearance.Whats on Offer9 month contract + 12 month extension optionOpportunity to work for a growing Federal Government agencyFlexible working environmentDue to the nature of this role, this job is open to Australian Citizens only.Calleo is an equal opportunity employer and we encourage applications from all people including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Follow Calleo on LinkedIn and visit our website to keep up to date on all our current job vacancies:www.linkedin.com/company/calleoresourcingwww.calleo.com.au
