In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting a sustainable portfolio of business, adhering to our comprehensive Underwriting Framework and Standards for Underwriting (ASU), and operating within delegated authority levels.
If you are passionate about delivering exceptional underwriting results and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from youYour new role Drive Business Growth: Provide quotations and secure complex new business and renewals, while offering technical support and leadership to regional underwriters and the broader Commercial Division team.
Lead and Inspire: Coach and mentor team members to develop their capabilities, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and engaged team environment.
Manage Complex Accounts: Oversee workflows for complex accounts, including new business, policy maintenance, and renewals, ensuring the delivery of top-notch service standards.
Strategic Alignment: Ensure that business bound aligns with divisional objectives and maintains a balanced portfolio focused on growth and profitability.
Seize Opportunities: Identify and capitalise on profitable new business opportunities, maximising conversion rates of desired business.
Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market intelligence gathering through liaison with brokers and reinsurers, reviewing data, and assessing risk to stay ahead in the market.
What you'll need to succeed Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and necessary industry accreditations.
Extensive Experience: At least 2-3 years in a senior capacity, proven ISR Property Underwriting experience for commercial property.
Relationship Builder: Skilled at proactively building and maintaining professional networks to enhance industry positioning and achieve beneficial outcomes.
Organisational Mastery: Exceptional ability to plan, prioritise, and manage tasks and resources effectively.
Regulatory Savvy: Deep understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative compliance requirements.
Customer-Centric: Enthusiastic about delivering high-quality services and positive customer experiences to optimise business value and sustain the customer base.
