About the business€3 billion Global technology leader in the test & measurement and integrated communications space.Currently expanding the Australian footprint, as we prepare to support and lead delivery of high profile projects.Technology offeringsMilitary communications across all domains.Wireless Communications.RF Test and Measurement.Broadcast and Media.Air Traffic Control.Cybersecurity and Network Technology.About the roleReporting to the Engineering Manager, manage the entire systems engineering lifecycle of the naval communications project, including design, development, testing, and deployment.In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, lead a team of engineers in the development of advanced communication systems for naval vessels, including satellite and radio communications.Be accountable and ensure that required engineering products and activities are produced in accordance with the approved procedures, within the allocated budgets and meet or exceed quality standards.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the communication systems.Manage risk, identify potential issues, and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project completion.Work closely with the customer to understand their needs and requirements, and to provide regular updates on project progress.In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the project engineering team.Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company's business objectives and goals.Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, issues, and risks.Participate in tender support activities.Skills and attributesProven background in engineering management preferably in a defence engineering environment.Good understanding of systems engineering and engineering processes and tools.Can lead, mentor and develop good engineering practices within the project engineering team.Have significant experience successfully managing a engineering or related technical team.Structured approach to engineering management and problem solving.Advanced communications skills.Demonstrated accountability and commitment.Personal agility by adapting flexibly to new situations, pursuing new paths and learning from mistakes.Drive results by showing initiative and achieving results reliably, with broad perspective, pragmatism and persistence.High standard of work quality.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a management role, preferably in the naval communications industry.Strong technical background in communications engineering, including experience with advanced communication systems, such as satellite and radio communications.Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, including military standards for communications systems.Must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to obtain Australian Security Clearance.Eligible to access/handle export-controlled technology, data, and information.Eligible to apply and obtain registration with the National Engineering Register (NER).BenefitsA competitive salary package that includes a generous bonus, and salary continuance insurance.Novated lease, and option to purchase extra holidays on top of annual leave.Free on-site parking is available.Training and development opportunities tailored to your personal development goals.Exceptional, high performance work culture with emphasis on collaboration, continuous improvement and celebrating success as a team.Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.Last Friday of every month is a non-working day - A wellness day for all employeesAPPLY NOWSend us your CV or contact our Head of Talent Management, Sachin Satish on for a confidential discussion.
