Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate System Validation Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.
The position is based in Brisbane (Queensland, Australia). This position will be offered as a 12-month full-time employee engagement.

Key accountabilities: Ensure the Testing & Laboratory Integration activities are performed well and contribute to achieving the System Validation objectives while increasing competitiveness in bids and efficiency in projects.
Ensure to collect all the requirements, in terms of materials for the host and target environment, from the System Validation and Regional System & Signaling Integration teams, in order to manage laboratory activities, maximizing return from experience and minimizing costs and time.
Ensure the requirements and expected features for the testing environments/tools, needed to execute the System Validation activities, are met.
Ensure the continuous effective development of competencies, skills and knowledge of the assigned resources in alignment with the Company strategy and the Company competence management system.
Required skills and knowledge: 2-3 years of System Validation or Testing & Laboratory Integration Experience on ETCS systems (preferred, not mandatory).
Background in Electrical Engineering; able to read and understand schematics, books of plans, and other mechanical drawings, or
Background in SW development and testing, particularly in IEE1483 and EN 50128 standards
Capability to integrate and maintain, in laboratory, different equipment and sub systems (sub system integration and system integration), in order to build the required testing environment.
Ability to define and execute the test procedures to validate the system requirements and interfaces.
Excellent communication skills
Education / QualificationsMaster's degree in Electric/Electronic/SW Engineering.
