Group Retail Operations ManagerThis is a rare opportunity to join the largest First Nations Corporation in Australia as the Group Retail Operations Manager.
This is a Darwin based role.About the roleWe are looking for a very structured strong retail leader to lead six Area Managers to drive operational excellence.
You will get to travel to some of the most remote parts of Northern Territory and Far North Queensland to support compliance, growth, improvement and build relationships with critical stakeholders.
You will need to quickly become culturally aware and understand the dynamics of each remote community in which we operate.Key responsibilitiesProvide leadership and coaching to newly appointed and experienced Area Managers whilst responding to critical operational needs in a timely and empathetic manner.Work closely with General Manager Retail to deliver on business and retail strategies.Physically visit all stores and communities at least once during the financial year and initiate actions required to support compliance, growth, and improvements whilst building relationships with critical stakeholders.Lead the achievement of budget forecasts, with a focus on cost control and overall responsibility for each store's Profit and Loss outcomes.Manage and lead the stores budgeting process each year with the area managers to ensure realistic and achievable budgets are produced.Ensure all policies and procedures are complied with and clearly communicated.Work with Retail Operations, Merchandising, local community stakeholders, and Store Management to meet local community needs for store operating hours, stock levels, store promotions, local employment, and nutrition initiatives.Using your innovative flair to drive innovation in the Retail Team to reduce costs and free up time for the Team.Drive recruitment and succession planning for the Team.What's in it for youCompetitive remunerationBased at our Darwin office and travel to remote communities6 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loadingMobile phone allowanceAbility to salary package up to $15,900 per annum with additional benefit options including meal and entertainment optionsWho are we and what we doWe are the Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA)We are Australia's largest financially independent Indigenous corporationWe employ over 1400 employees across 27 remote locations throughout the NT and Far North QLDWe aim to enhance social and economic development wherever we operateALPA is an equal opportunity employer, we encourage First Nations People and those from diverse backgrounds to apply.All applications will be treated confidentially and only those with the rights to work full time in Australia will be considered.To find out more please email: us as a Group Retail Operations Manager
