Offering white label, joint venture and floorplan finance, our proprietary software provides a seamless, convenient and customer-focused finance service to consumers and businesses.Due to continued growth and evolution of the critical Technology function in Allied Credit, the Head of Applications is a newly created leadership position with primary responsibility to lead a team and work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to establish and execute the organisation's applications strategy.The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, especially of modern architecture and integration in a banking or financial services context, plus a proven track record of leading expert teams.
This is a senior leadership role that requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and drive organizational change.What you will be doingWork closely with the CIO to establish the organisation's application strategy.Manage the operational and systems development expenditures within budget and to deadline.Provide assessment, planning and appropriate measurement of application landscape, including upgrade paths and development roadmaps.Consider sourcing and delivery models, ways of working and lifecycle management appropriate to the applications and business use.Oversee the management of third-party vendors, evaluate their offerings and ensure they deliver quality services, support and tools.Assess, develop and implement risk management strategies for IT applications.Cultivate and maintain a leading software development capability with the capacity to accommodate varying workloads.Assess workforce mix in Applications team and implement optimisation strategies.Your backgroundStrong technical knowledge especially of modern architecture and integration in a banking or financial services context.Experience with cloud technologies, API management, microservices architecture, cybersecurity practices and modern programming languages is critical.Experience in modernisation strategies in managing applications, ways of working and methodologies.Senior management experience in Application Delivery.Proven experience working closely with business stakeholders like Sales, Legal, Product, Finance etc and other technology teams like IT Security and Operations to align delivery with broader business goals.Communicating complex technical details to non-technical stakeholder and C-suite executives.Strong risk management experience, including cybersecurity, data protection, business resilience and disaster recovery.Why work for Allied Credit?Work-life balance - hybrid working arrangements allow a balance of working from home and the office, and we are always willing to discuss flexible working options.Wellness day to take a day off for some R&R around your birthday and a Volunteer Day to support your community.Discount offers on selected retailers, car loans and novated leasing options.A learning environment where we take your development and career aspirations seriously.16 weeks of paid parental leave along with Salary Continuance Insurance.Allied Credit pledges to treat all candidates with the utmost respect and professionalism throughout the recruitment process.
