You could be one of our 3000 committed team members who are up to the challenge.Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Head of Infrastructure Services plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the rail network, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of transportation services.
This role offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the community by contributing to the development of a well-functioning, integrated transport system.About the roleThe Head of Infrastructure Services is responsible for providing operational and strategic support to optimise business operations within the Infrastructure division.
This role involves streamlining various support functions, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring consistent communication of strategic information.
The position also supports the Director of Infrastructure in developing and executing divisional plans and initiatives to achieve organisational objectives.Key accountabilities include:Lead and optimise a high-performing operational support team.Manage budget and resources efficiently.Develop and implement effective operational systems.Drive impactful business cases and strategic initiatives.Ensure clear and timely communication of business information.Coordinate procurement and manage sensitive issues.Identify and mitigate operational risks.Foster strong stakeholder relationships and manage responses to State requests.About youThe Head of Infrastructure Services role will be a strategic leader with a strong background in business operations and management.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
You will have a proven track record in strategic and business planning, as well as experience in leading high-performing teams.
You are resilient, adaptable, and capable of managing complex projects and operational challenges within a dynamic environment.Our ideal candidate will possess the following:Strong service mindset focused on improving service offerings.Extensive experience in business operations and management.Demonstrated experience in strategic and business planning.Proven ability to generate detailed business cases and options papers.Strong leadership and team-building skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Strong business acumen and understanding of organisational challenges.Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work in ambiguous situations.Ability to develop, execute, monitor, and control strategic plans.Proactive in identifying and managing strategic, operational, and project-based risks.Experience with ISO 55001:2014 Asset Management Standard (desirable).Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.Qualifications· Tertiary qualification in business operations management or related field.A full position description will be provided to interviewees.In addition to free myki travel, we offer:Community impact - Make a genuine difference.
