Why Your Role Matters: The Kirby Institute, a global leader in health research at UNSW Sydney, is seeking a Clinical Project Coordinator to join the Therapeutic and Vaccine Research Program to support the setup, coordination and monitoring of clinical research projects, including international studies focused on treatments for respiratory infections.
The role involves project management across Australian and international sites, with a particular focus on research in low- and middle-income countries.
The Therapeutic and Vaccine Research Program conducts clinical studies on infectious diseases, focusing on HIV, hepatitis B, COVID-19 and related complications.
Our trials evaluate the real-world effectiveness of new therapies and support research into disease mechanisms and treatment responses.
We've helped set the global standard for HIV treatment and lead innovative trials aimed at optimising HIV care in resource-limited settings and reducing long-term health impacts worldwide.
The role of Clinical Project Coordinator reports to Senior Project Coordinator and has no direct reports.
Who You Are: Graduate qualifications in biomedical science, nursing, or another medical field, or equivalent knowledge gained through education, training, or experience.
Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating project meetings to ensure effective collaboration and timely delivery of objectives.
Experience in coordinating and monitoring clinical trials to ensure adherence to study protocols, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel both nationally and internationally as needed.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including those with non-English speaking backgrounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software packages.
An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
