The Department of Crop Sciences at BOKU university is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate (project employment).

**Responsibilities**:

- technical-scientific and organizational cooperation in the infrastructure project MoFAB at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences with a focus on the BOKU location Tulln (Lower Austria), as well as various locations in Austria
- participation in the assembly, development and optimization of camera combinations for a stationary system and a phenopathy 3D images of plant populations with laser scanner, spectral and thermal camera in the climate chamber, in the greenhouse and in the field
- optimization of the use of imaging methods for the close-up exploration of plant populations in low and high throughput
- development of an evaluation pipeline with 3D data from medium (48 units) to large (several 100 plots) agricultural experiments for the derivation and validation of plant characteristics such as stock geometry, nutrient and water status
- development and optimization of user-friendly evaluation tools for scientific research
- participation in the statistical evaluation and scientific use of the obtained Data

Required skills and qualifications
- diploma degree in computer science, mathematics, mechatronics/robotics or other equivalent university degree
- interest in and experience in the digital evaluation of measurement data, including 3D images, spectral and thermal data
- very good programming skills
- interest in agricultural, biological and plant-physiological topics
- communication skills, team spirit, affinity for technology, organizational talent and scientific curiosity
- very good knowledge of German and English
- Driving license B

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1, € 3.058,60
