Reporting to the Controller, this position is located in East Aurora, NY and is part of the Thomson brand within Regal Rexnord (the parent company).
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily accounting duties, financial close, financial compliance, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost accounting duties. This position is full-time with full benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
- Engage in general accounting activities including the accurate and complete preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit-loss statements, and capital expenditure reports.
- Ownership of capital asset acquisition cost tracking and capitalization of assets upon completion for approved projects.
- Provide product costing support and analysis, to include preparation of the annual standard cost roll for approval.
- Support annual physical inventory counts and cycle count reporting and analysis.
- Provide data and support for SOX reporting and audit requirements.
- Maintain adequacy of internal control structure to ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
- Support the budget and forecasting processes.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Other ad hoc duties and analysis as assigned by finance leadership.

- Knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Strong manufacturing / managerial accounting skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and financial system knowledge
- Ability to interact with employees at various levels & skill sets
- Ability to collaborate among decentralized teams.
- Ability to work in a deadline oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 2 years of relevant accounting experience required
- Experience with an ERP system; Oracle preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel is required
- Cost Accounting experience is a plus
