**Background**:
This is a temporary position with the start date of as soon as possible and the initial duration of 5 months and 29 days.

- and security-building measures, human rights, combating human trafficking, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities. All 57 participating States enjoy equal status, and decisions are taken by consensus on a politically, but not legally binding basis.
The Office of the Secretary General (OSG) plays a key role in supporting the Secretary General in the effective implementation of his/her mandate and specific tasks given to him/her by the OSCE participating States. This includes primarily assisting the Secretary General in his activities, serving as a focal point for liaison and support to the Chairperson-in-Office, and co-ordinating tasks across the Secretariat. The OSG ensures effective co-ordination of policy advice provided to the Secretary General and the Chairmanship, and management decisions taken by the Secretary General.
The OSCE Security Management System ensures the security, safety and well-being of OSCE staff while carrying out their work. Security Management serves as the clearing-house for all security related issues, it defines the Organization’s safety and security policy and standards, and it supports the Organization’s security managers in meeting their responsibilities. It also maintains contacts with host authorities, as well as with partner organizations and embassies, on all security-related matters and participates actively in the Crisis Management Team and the Security Management Committee.

The Security Information Manager will, under the direct supervision of the Field Security Officer, focus on the following tasks:
Monitoring the evolving security environment, supporting planning and ensuring awareness of the current trends to enhance or adjust security programme;
Supporting the Team in the development of inclusive risk management strategies and driving planning using situational awareness, critical thinking, and logic to detect and interpret early signals, emerging trends and analysis of multi-dimensional threats that may impact security; identifying the strengths and weaknesses of different solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems;
Supporting the preparation, review and implementation of security planning, security risk management documents and security solutions through innovation and creativity; ensuring written analysis of security trends and timely reporting of incidents; participating in meetings, committees, and task forces, preparing papers on security issues, delivering briefings, providing responses, as needed;
Advising on the inclusion of security in all stages of OSCE activities and programmes; providing operational and strategic advice and support to line managers responsible for security;
Supporting complex security-related projects, prioritizing work to meet deadlines and following defined processes, policies, procedures and guidance, fostering alignment with colleagues and across organizations;
Monitoring and contributing to activities that relate to the implementation and evaluation of preparedness and compliance; driving results that help support operational efficiency and effectiveness; guiding the definition of policies, methodology and processes for the implementation of the substantive activities of the relevant teams;
Ensuring effective communication and trust through active collaboration, consultation and exchanges within OSCE Secretariat, OSCE Institutions and Missions, and other stakeholders, for information sharing, co-ordination of responses, provision of security briefings, taking into account operational activities and risks;
