**About Speedinvest**
Speedinvest is a leading early-stage venture capital firm with more than €600M AuM and 40 investors based in Berlin, London, Munich, Paris, and Vienna. Our dedicated sector-focused teams are the first to fund Europe's most innovative technology startups and our in-house operational experts are on-hand to offer founders ongoing support with growth, HR, US market expansion, and more. Wefox, Bitpanda, TIER Mobility, GoStudent, Curve, CoachHub, Schüttflix, TourRadar, Adverity, and Twaice are among our portfolio of 250+ companies.
We are looking to expand our **Legal Team** and are hiring a **Transaction Analyst** in Vienna, Berlin or London.
**About the Position**
As a Transactions Analyst you will work on Speedinvest’s investments into startups and therefore form an essential part of the fund’s business and overall success. You will work closely with, and be the interface between, the investment team, the legal team and the finance team. You will be part of a team of currently 4 lawyers, led by the General Counsel, and will support (primarily) on the financial and operational side (not so much on the legal side) of day-to-day transactional work with startups.
**Your responsibilities**
- **Managing the investment transaction process** by ensuring the necessary documents are drafted, executed and filed according to internal processes
- Reviewing and drafting **capitalisation tables** (in excel format) of Speedinvest’s potential and actual portfolio companies, with a view to double checking the economic terms illustrated therein and preparing them for Speedinvest’s reporting team and accountants
- Reviewing and administering **investment contracts** (term sheets, investment agreements, shareholder agreements, articles of association, share purchase agreements, etc) with a view to double checking the structure of the investment and that the economic agreement is being implemented correctly (but not negotiating or drafting contracts)
- Drafting **transaction summaries** which serve as a “hand-over” to Speedinvest’s reporting team and accountants
- Preparing the **payments** of investment amounts
- Supporting and tracking the process for investments into portfolio companies **from start to completion** and supporting with post-closing matters, e.g. answering any questions Speedinvest’s accountants, reporting or finance teams may have on a specific transaction
**This role is perfect for you if you - for example**:
- Have a financial background, with an interest in contracts, and would like to step out of pure “back-office” work and, with one foot, step into the world of venture capital investment transactions; or
- Have a legal background, with an interest in the financial side of investment transactions, and would like to move into the commercial side of venture capital; or
- Have any other business or economics background with a strong interest in the mentioned areas and would like to move into the world of venture capital
**Your qualifications and skills**
We value intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, initiative and the ability to work independently, as well as a collaborative spirit.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in business, finance, economics or law.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced work environment such as an auditing or law firm, in an investment controlling, M&A or accounting position, or an investment fund
- Passionate about financial and legal concepts, with an interest in the commercials and economics of transactions
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a high degree of flexibility to adjust to last minute updates or changes
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced and entrepreneurial organization
- Natural at establishing relationships with different stakeholders and working with cross-functional and distributed teams
- Dedicated work ethic, proactive attitude and commitment to a goal-oriented environment
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with an interest to learn new tools (e.g. Notion).
- Fluency in English and ideally also in German
**We offer**:
- A unique chance to step into the world of venture capital and startups
- An innovative environment with a growth mindset
- The chance to be part of an international, driven, talented and results oriented team
- The opportunity to continuously learn and grow
- An opportunity to leave your suits behind and wear sneakers to work
- Flexible work environment and the ability to work from home on a regular basis
According to Austrian law we are required to state a minimum salary for this position. The expected minimum monthly salary is EUR 40,000.00 gross annually. However, the final salary will be a competitive package based on previous work experience, hence there is a willingness to overpay.
