Our Downstream Development Team is responsible for the development and transfer of processes and thus a key part for bringing new, innovative, biopharmaceutical drugs to the market. The tasks and responsibilities in our team are divers and thus a varied and exiting daily work routine.
Please note that this Associate Expert Science & Technology role is offered at 50% of full time hours.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Development, optimization and characterization of downstream processes for proteins and nucleic acids on a laboratory scale
- Process validation studies (e.g. resin reuse studies, chemical stability of process buffers, process intermediate hold times)
- Piloting of downstream processes for proteins and nucleic acids
- Determination of quality and performance relevant downstream process parameters and in-process tests
- Low bioburden API (active pharmaceutical ingredient sample) and CC (critical component) production in order to prove process robustness, for drug product supply and for preclinical studies
- Process documentation for process transfer according to compliance guidelines
- Process transfer to production; support of production during process implementation and scale-up
- Troubleshooting for GMP manufacturing processes in case of performance or quality issues

**Role Requirements**

.**Essential Requirements**:

- An apprentice as laboratory technician or comparable education
- Experience in Downstream Processing in particular with chromatographic systems like Äkta;
- Knowledge and experience of software tools e.g. Microsoft software tools, electronic labbook etc.
- The ability to cover 50% of a permanent role
