The Powder Solutions division, with the Wolfram brand, is a world-leading provider of tungsten powders for machining and wear parts, and metal powder for manufacturing technologies such as Metal Injection Molding and 3D printing. These powders serve as the backbone of various industries, and their role in shaping modern technology and innovation cannot be overstated - we have customers in a range of industries, from automotive, aerospace, energy, and infrastructure, to electronics, tooling and mining. With unique expertise and extensive experience, coupled with a strong and embedded focus on sustainability, we’re well-equipped to further strengthen our current position and foster the growth of our business.

Your mission and responsibilities

As the President of Powder Solutions, your mission is to develop, communicate, and execute strategic plans, to drive forward our mission to enhance our market position and expanding into new segments and markets. Your role is instrumental in balancing, optimizing, and growing both internal and external business operations. By overseeing the powder production footprint, you ensure that we remain successful despite geopolitical challenges. With the financial performance accountability of the division in your hands, you guide our investment portfolio in line with future ambitions and requirements.

Your key focus areas ahead are:

- Leading the organization towards an even stronger market position.
- Expanding our market reach, particularly in the US.
- Transitioning from a European-centric to a truly global organization.
- Creating future growth through innovation.

Innovation is at the heart of your responsibilities, as you drive the development of new products and areas of growth. Building and nurturing a strong management team is crucial to your leadership, and you create a roadmap that encompasses culture, purpose, and belonging, while ensuring stability in financials, growth, and profitability. Furthermore, you are instrumental in expanding our customer base, clarifying our branding, and de-risking our strategic roadmap.

You report to the President of Sandvik Machining Solutions, and as an active member of the executive management team, you drive forward and continuously develop our strategic direction - aiming at establishing sustainable and strategically important projects. To measure the effectiveness of our strategy and sustainability initiatives, you establish metrics and KPIs, and you report on progress and engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.

Your profile
We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring general manager with a value-based leadership style, strong business acumen and great communication skills. You hold a technical or commercially oriented university degree, together with strong commercial experience and a solid background from successfully leading a global business, including profit and loss responsibility. Preferably, you also have experience of our industry. You know how to balance and act on a forward-thinking strategy, and you are able to drive pragmatic execution in a shifting market. As we act across borders and cultures, advanced communication skills English is a must. Knowing German is an advantage as a big part of the business is based in Austria.
