Engineering Manager

**Main purpose of the job**:
Lead of technical changes; Customer
- and IAC generated changes. Lead of preparation before quotation, acc. to GDLS-deliverables. Determines and drives the most appropriate design and engineering solution for system/module. Ensuring that all APQP engineering requirements are covered. Lead an engineering & design (both employed and contractor) resources accountable to program milestones and creating feasible, cost-effective products. Also applies in how to manage customer in build-to-print projects and/or FSS projects. Liaison with inhouse resources regarding tooling and manufacturing process specialists, as well as external suppliers, to ensure that product is fully feasible for the vehicle life. Be an active and leading team-member in the cross-functional project team.
**Main missions and results**:

- Engineering budget for the concerned product scope
- Product costs, product timing, product quality
- See deliverables in GDLS
- Comply with general IAC policies, procedures and systems
- Supervise design and product feasibility together with external and internal parties.
- Perform CAD feasibility investigations. Act as liaison towards customer, suppliers and manufacturing plants.
- Ensure that products are:

- o Designed according to customer styling and in line with technical requirements and specifications
- Feasible from an assembly and manufacturing perspective
- Reliable and robust from all quality related aspects
- Dimensionally stable and capable with mínimal variation
- Feasible to tool, paint, assemble, handle, pack and transport
- Engineered in most cost-efficient way vs requirements
- Drive for flawless introduction of products and programs in concerned manufacturing plants.
- Drive development of products and processes with an aim of achieving world-class premium products.
- Drive D-FMEA development Support programs and plants in the planning, monitoring and execution of engineering changes.
- Drive VAVE activities, include customer interface to improve product costs.
- Support quoting process on new business opportunities include and liaise with/support internal parties to ensure all recoverable costs are accounted for prior quoting.
- Lead quoting process from an engineering perspective, including E&D cost calculations and enable IAC to be competitive in the overall quote.

**Preferred Skills and Experience**:

- Bachelor and/or Diploma degree in automotive, plastics engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent job-related experience
- 5-10 years related experience of automotive interior products, specifically Cockpit Systems, Greenhouse, Door Complete and Cargo Systems
- Automotive project experience including development, simulation, product and process.
- Interpersonal skills and able to comfortably communicate and interact with staff, suppliers and customers on all levels
- Proven record of successful work directly with customer engineering teams.
- Basic CATIA knowledge to perform feasibility studies
- Knowledgeable of IAC product portfolio and manufacturing processes. Knowledge and understanding of six sigma tools
- Knowledge of drawings, geometry & reference systems to drive dimensional argumentation.
- Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written, is essential.
- Other Languages skills will be considered and an advantage (Slovak, Czech, Polish etc)
- Able to travel within EU, in order to both customers and plants at locations through-out EU.
