**European Medical Scientific Liaison Lead (Haematology Oncology)**
**Newly created MSL Lead position available due to internal promotion - Austria, Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic**
Our client is a US based Biopharmaceutical company with a focus on developing and bringing to market novel targeted therapies covering a range of blood related cancers for conditions with unmet medical need.
**_As a result of a recent internal promotion_** and **_new product launch in the US_**, they are expanding their European team; we are searching for an experienced Haematology-Oncology Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) Lead to join them at this exciting time, working in a hybrid role which incorporates **_line management of 2 MSLs_** **_as well as responsibility for carrying out customer facing MSL duties across Austria and several Eastern European countries_** (namely Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic).
We are looking for someone who can work autonomously, has a strong scientific background and excellent communication skills; you will also have a proven track record of success in a pharmaceutical industry MSL position combined with previous experience of managing medically-related personnel (not necessarily MSLs).
**Key tasks will include**:
- Developing tactics for communicating complex medical and scientific information to the healthcare community, including support for answering unsolicited medical questions, adverse event reporting and other clinically related medical information
- Developing contacts with key clinicians, university teaching hospitals, group purchasing organizations and other medical / scientific groups in the assigned region as well as across the territories covered by the managed MSLs
- Acting as a clinical resource with professional and advocacy organizations with the objective of developing relationships and identifying potential business opportunities
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to develop and execute a plan designed to meet shared business/clinical objectives through the provision of field-based medical support (including IST and clinical trial support)
- Day to day management and mentoring of 2 MSLs.
- Scientific degree (ideally PhD, PharmD, MD etc.)
- Proven track record of working as an MSL, ideally with exposure to the clinical trials environment
- Previous people management experience (not necessarily managing MSLs)
- Previous oncology disease area expertise
- EU driving license
- Eligibility to work on a full time, permanent basis across Europe
- Based in Austria, Hungary, Poland or Czech Republic (if located in Austria, prior experience of working in Eastern Europe would be highly desirable)
- English language proficiency essential. Some capability in Eastern European languages preferred. If based in Austria, fluency in German is a prerequisite.
