We are excited to announce a new, available role at our Headquarters in Vienna, Austria -**Senior Legal Counsel.**
The future incumbent will be responsible for providing legal advice for defined business units, functions and locations of Borealis in respect of all areas of law, and will report to an Associate General Counsel. Moreover, the solicitor will serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for those units, functions and locations. He/she will be responsible for providing advice in areas adjacent to law. **As a Legal Counsel, you will be**:

- Advising and providing legal support in specific legal core areas, projects and transactions supervised by Head of Legal M&A and Corporate. Legal core areas include M&A, corporate law, commercial law, competition law, finance, tax and capital markets law.
- A primary or secondary point of contact for defined business units and/or functions and/or locations, ensuring their legal support in legal core areas and/or adjacent areas independently or under supervision of the Head of Legal M&A and Corporate.
- Acting as the management’s and business’ legal sparring partner during the day-to-day business.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating any type of contract or legal structures.
- Managing litigations.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable corporate laws and/or internal corporate rules, in particular the Articles of Association and the Rules of Procedure of Borealis AG.
- An “Ethics Ambassador” and training of Borealis employees on a regular basis on ethics topics.
- Assisting in selecting, contracting and supervising external lawyers in transactions and/or projects ensuring that borealis’ standards and goals are safeguarded.
- Managing and collaborating with other external advisors, if needed in the course of a project.
- Monitoring legal developments (legislation, case law) and updating the legal department as well as the business partners on important developments.
- Developing, organizing and conduct internal trainings related to legal core and/or adjacent areas.
- Generating and managing overviews of projects requiring legal support and reporting / align progress with potential other teams within the legal department.
- Collaborating with Heads of Business Units & functions to coordinate adherence to laws and internal legal related processes.
- Responsible for day-to-day legal advice on contracts, disputes and regulatory framework to leaders of all Borealis businesses and functions.
- Working closely with Legal departments of shareholders, partners, customers and suppliers.

**About you**:
You have LLM (postgraduate master of laws), or comparable additional education, with strong focus on Austrian or/and German laws.

Your English language is on business level, both spoken and written.

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement industry starting at EUR 118.400 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
