Paediatric Radiologist(P4) - (2025/0494 (257545)) Organization: NAHU-Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Section Primary Location: Austria-Vienna-Vienna-IAEA Headquarters Job Posting: 2025-10-08, 4:46:49 AM Closing Date: 2025-10-28, 5:59:00 PM Duration in Months: 12 Contract Type: Fixed Term - Extrabudgetary Probation Period: 1 Year Full Competitive Recruitment: Yes **This position is advertised on a part-time basis (50% work schedule) and the salaries, allowances and other entitlements are reduced accordingly** Organizational Setting The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's Major Programme 2, "Nuclear Techniques for Development and Environmental Protection". This Major Programme comprises individual programmes on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment and radiation technologies. These programmes are supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. The Major Programme's objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to meet basic human needs and to assess and manage the marine and terrestrial environments through the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in sustainable development programmes. The Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Section's primary objective is to enhance Member States' capabilities to use nuclear medicine and other imaging technologies efficiently, mainly, but not limited to cancer and cardiac diseases, and for undertaking related basic and clinical research. To achieve those goals, special attention is given to the preparation of educational resources, guidelines and guidance documents. Main Purpose Role The Paediatric Radiologist is: (1) a technical adviser and research coordinator, helping to ensure the efficient and effective development and implementation of global standards in paediatric radiology and nuclear medicine; (2) an adviser to the Section, Division, and other IAEA staff on scientific and technical matters related to paediatric radiology and nuclear medicine; (3) a technical expert for collaborative efforts aimed at a synergistic approach to paediatric radiology and nuclear medicine development in Member States; and (4) a team member, striving to improve team activities and approaches towards providing high-quality service and sustainable development in practices, ultimately enhancing cancer care for children in Member States in the field of paediatric radiology and nuclear medicine. Functions / Key Results Expected - Coordinate and liaise with experts in the field to develop a standardized educational curriculum for the subspecialties of Paediatric Nuclear Medicine, and Paediatric Radiology. - Coordinate and liaise with experts to develop a standardized educational short-term specialized fellowship for refreshing skills in various specialties, including Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, Radiographers, and Nuclear Medicine Technologists. - Coordinate and liaise with experts to develop education and training materials, as well as guidance documents, in paediatric radiology and paediatric nuclear medicine. - Coordinate and liaise with experts to develop paediatric radiology and paediatric nuclear medicine patient-centred quality management audit tools. - Coordinate and liaise with experts to develop e-learning materials, ensuring that the educational content is continuously updated and available online. - Coordinate the nuclear medicine and radiology components of training courses and workshops for education, training, and the dissemination of the developed global goods. - Coordinate the development of standardized datasets for nuclear medicine and radiology, patient management, and research. - Provide technical input and review of imPACT reviews and NCCPs focussing on paediatric cancer care components.
