**My duties**
- Work as a member of the Research Data Management Systems team using the Scrum framework
- Collaborate closely with the product owner and engineering team Troubleshoot and address various issues in the system design
- Architect and implement backup/maintenance strategies in the divisional unit
- Support in performance tuning and database development of performance-critical code
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Create efficient designs for the master
- and metadata management in line with the data requirements/standards in the divisional unit
- Efficient management of data structures/fields in the intermediate design phase of the database management system

**My qualifications**
- Professional experience with database technologies
- Experience in MySQL and Oracle database technologies, Postgres is a plus
- Proficiency in automation and efficient design
- Design effective data store solutions that account for effective capacity planning, data tiering, and Data life-cycle management
- Design automated deployment procedures for cloud-hosted database services
- Experience in cloud-hosted database management systems, preferably on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience in agile development methodology and agile development tools, preferably on Atlassian-based tools
- You are a versatile team player that enjoys collaboration but also solves problems on its own
- Strong skills in SQL for efficient and performant queries on relational database management systems (RDBMS)
- Ability to perform system monitoring and address various issues in the system
- Good knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and integrity
- Experience in Python, object relational mappers (e.g. SQLAlchemy) toolkits and familiarity with programming languages API (RESTful architecture) is a big plus
