Investment Management Lawyer

Join our Legal team covering the public investments asset management business of Macquarie Asset Management in the EMEA region, currently consisting of 5 staff based in Vienna, London and Luxembourg. The role will be based in Vienna at Macquarie Investment Management Austria KAG, a 100% subsidiary of Australia-based Macquarie Group. In this role you will be provided with the opportunity to work closely with the Macquarie Asset Management distribution, fund operations and investment management teams, reporting directly to the Head of Legal for Macquarie Asset Management Public Investments.

Macquarie Investment Management Austria Kapitalanlage AG based in Vienna specializes in the management of global multi asset and euro fixed income portfolios. Our customers include pension funds, companies, chambers as well as fund managers and foundations.

Aufgaben
- Advising on fund structuring (including UCITS funds) including the manufacture, development and maintenance of fund structures
- Drafting and negotiating business agreements, particularly investment management and advisory agreements, distribution agreements, sponsorship and event agreements and advising on marketing documentation and distribution regulations, including

MIFID rules, relating to the distribution of Macquarie funds in EMEA
- Negotiating trading agreements, including derivatives trading agreements, relating to Macquarie Asset Management’s trading activities in EMEA
- Advising on legal and regulatory issues relating to Macquarie Asset Management’s Austrian and Luxembourg UCITS fund platforms
- Advising on Austrian and EU applicable law and regulatory developments with a focus on UCITS, MIFID and AIFMD regulation
- Implementation of regulatory projects (including assistance with managing and driving forward the legal aspects of the projects to completion)

Qualifikation
- At least two years of working experience as a lawyer preferably within the financial markets sector, in-house (investment management/banking), with a regulatory authority or a law firm
- Strong technical legal skills combined with the ability to take a commercial approach to problem solving including the ability

to distil complex regulation and legal issues into practical advice
- High level of motivation, genuine curiosity, flexibility and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills and full proficiency in German and English; proficiency in French is considered an advantage
- As Macquarie Asset Management is a global investment manager, you will be required to work on cross border transactions with the ability to communicate effectively between EMEA, Australia, Asia and the US
