Scientist / Researcher (M/F/d) Polyolefin Design

**We are currently looking for a Scientist for Polyolefin Design and Conversion to support our team in our Innovation Headquarter in Austria, Linz.**

As a scientist in the competence center ‘PO Design and Conversion’, you will support developing next generation polypropylene and polyethylene materials for future needs. Focus is on in-reactor polymer design development and scale up, including additivation formulations considering synergistic, antagonistic and interaction effects.

Borealis provides solutions and materials that enhance safety in food packaging, automotive and healthcare as well as water, sanitation, energy and communication infrastructure. Our company strategy includes the transformation to a circular economy and we focus on developing materials that can be collected, sorted and recycled - meaning a clear focus on “design for recycling”. **You will**:

- Be member in project teams with your own area of responsibility
- Plan technical aspects of R&D tasks and be responsible for execution of project tasks and implementation
- Act as an interface between R&D and various business communities (also external partners) and provide technical support and problem solving
- Contribute to intellectual property rights (IPR) related issues e.g. patent filling, patent opposition and competitor follow-up
- Promote Borealis and Borealis´ Polyolefin proprietary products and technology in relevant international forums and conferences

**About you**:
You hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Physics or Polymer Science/Engineering with some years of experience as a scientist or researcher and you have knowledge in the areas of polymer material development, polymer structure-property-processing relationship, polyolefin additivation or polyolefin conversion. Moreover, you need to be fluent in our company language English.

As a researcher, you are driven by an underlying curiosity and desire to know more about things, people or issues. You are an innovative self-starter who is constantly striving to expand their knowledge by widely consulting with other experts and by actively using information sharing systems.

Not only are you able to bring new ideas, approaches or methods into the team by sharing your knowledge actively. You are also encouraging new ideas from others across Borealis. Your way of thinking is highly structured and analytical but also flexible when it comes to collaboration in projects or challenges in your daily work.

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 54.789;
- annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus a voluntary company pension plan and hybrid working.
