Our **Center for Health & Bioresources**, Competence Unit **Molecular Diagnostics**, is seeking to hire new Ingenious Partners for our location in Vienna.
**Scientist (M/F/d) Bioinformatics / Biomarker Development**
**IMAGINE**
- Furthermore, you will work in international research collaborations with experts in disease characterisation and biomarker development (clinics, laboratory, computational).
**ENGAGE**
- In this role, you will develop and implement complex algorithms for the analysis of OMICS data and prediction of medical outcomes.
- You will be conducting scientific research that applies artificial intelligence / deep learning informed computational biology strategies to topics of biomarker development.
- You will conceptualize, write grant proposals, and develop scientific methods and will lead competitive applied research projects in the field based on your own ideas.
- While being responsible for the management of small to middle-sized projects, you will have the chance to interact with external collaborators and advise our national and international project partners.
- You will mentor and supervise junior researchers and students.
- You publish your research results in peer-reviewed journals and will present them at conferences.

Your qualifications as an** Ingenious Partner**:
- Higher Degree (preferably PhD) in Biological Sciences, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or any other related field
- 3-5 years working experience in a similar environment
- Considerable knowledge and technical skills associated with the development of complex pipelines for the analysis of omics data predominantly (epi)genomics, transcriptomics and immunomics
- Publication track record with an emphasis on biomedical research topics
- Strong background in statistics and artificial intelligence / deep learning, proficiency in R and Python, as well use of high-performance computing for scientific research
- Profound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to write grant proposals and publications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
**What to expect**:
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 53.382, -. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer company benefits, flexible working conditions, individual training and career opportunities.
