**Role Purpose**:
We are recruiting for a new post within the Gallery’s busy and dynamic AV team. The AV team supports the design, development, production and maintenance of AV-based visitor programmes and experiences for departments across the organisation. This includes the installation and maintenance of extensive in-gallery multimedia equipment, provision of AV services for a variety of corporate events and activities and providing technical support for the large-scale onsite and hybrid public programme.

The AV Programmes Officer will take the lead on the planning and delivery of AV for the Gallery’s Public programme of onsite and hybrid events, working closely with colleagues in the Learning and Engagement team to ensure AV support is aligned to audience and stakeholder needs. The role will deputise for the Senior AV Technician when required and support with the management of the team’s calendar.

The public programme at the Gallery is a dynamic and inspiring cultural programme. We work with high profile artists and performers and recent speakers on the programme have included Sir Paul McCartney, Tracey Emin, Gilbert & George, Jazzie B, Jeremy Healy and a large-scale event for 6,000 people with a performance by Six the Musical. The core programme is delivered Friday nights, Thursday lunchtimes, some weekends, and weekdays too. The programme takes inspiration from the exciting, varied temporary exhibitions programme at the Gallery as well as the Collection, displays and anniversaries. It covers themes including art, photography, history, biography, identity & representation. It is a rich mix of artist talks, lectures & panel discussions on contemporary issues; discussions on British history culture & society; creative art and photography workshops, conferences and courses. Central to the programme will be a commitment at equality, diversity and inclusion.

In addition to a strong onsite programme we will be developing our hybrid capacity and delivering a new monthly live streamed event to reach audiences nationally and internationally. This role will lead on the development of this new strand of programming, growing our online audience and ensuring a high-quality experience at all times.

This role will also support AV tech for wider Learning and Engagement programming including providing tech support for youth lates, schools and family events held across the Gallery’s spaces.

This is an exciting time to join the Gallery and support the start-up of new programming activity for different audiences on-site and online.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Work closely in collaboration with all programming teams in the planning of AV support for a variety of event types, including panel discussions, conferences, film screenings, performances, workshops, in-conversations, lates and lectures.
- Work closely with the Adult Public programme team to deliver a first-class AV tech experience for the high-profile events the Gallery produces.
- Lead on managing and delivering the Gallery’s new monthly hybrid programme of events and managing the wider AV team involvement with delivering this.
- Oversee the delivery of public programme events, including liaising with artists, meeting speakers, running sound checks, stage managing, and delivering technical elements. - Work with the colleagues to optimise the Gallery’s delivery of livestreamed and online events through planning and technical delivery of audio, visual, and IT elements.
- Lead on AV support for internal livestream events (roughly once a month).
- Work with the Senior AV Technician to plan the distribution of AV Technician work across the gallery.
- Manage AV equipment in the new Lecture Theatre space, and support with the maintenance and updates of AV equipment used for events across the Gallery
- Set up and operate presentation/event equipment in the Gallery’s public facing spaces and event facilities including DJ equipment and portable tech equipment
- Promoting sustainable working practices and reducing the environmental impact of the Gallery’s operations in line with its Sustainability Statement.
- Willingness and flexibility to work unsociable hours for early/late installations and events as required.
- Support on the recording and editing of selected events, including incorporating messaging and branding.
