**Team Overview**:
**Role Description**:
As a VMware Consulting Architect Network Virtualization, the individual owns overarching solution of advanced projects of 2+ technologies. Translates customer business requirements into high-level solutions and designs. Authors complex high-level solutions and delegates and pulls in consultants as required. Responsible for project governance and for building out customer roadmap.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides technical input to Solution Architects and Sales Executives in the pre-sales stage of an opportunity by providing accurate effort estimation in their specialist area. Has good commercial awareness and identifies future services opportunities within a project.
- Plan and lead virtualized network infrastructure implementations, roll-outs and migrations
- Recognizes patterns and trends in project delivery that could impact both VMware and/or the customer. Anticipates issues and takes proactive action with little or no guidance.
- Takes a lead role with difficult situations, owns and drives to completion.
- Acts as a technical solution lead.
- Accountable for project deliverables while ensuring that the team adhere to the delivery excellence framework.
- Understands the business impact of a given situation, prioritizes issues and influences team members to make appropriate decisions. Provides timely and pertinent feedback to all stakeholders. Analyses and filters complex data and information to make informed decisions and recommendations for the direct team.
- Guides team members in prioritization of work according to the project plan to ensure timely delivery of solution.
- Leads with a consultative style. Runs and facilitates technical workshops with customers.
- Clearly defines project requirements/issues constraints with PMs. Creates and owns service request - from log through to resolution. Interfaces with Engineering to discuss product issues/limitations.
- Builds strong customer relationships through the engagement.
- Identifies, evaluates and develops innovative and complex end to end customer solutions. Through their relationship with key stakeholders understands and focuses on achieving a project outcome that maps to the customers business driver.
- Presents at internal events such as Tech Summit and to customers at IT management level.

**Required Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Advanced level solution specialist with broad knowledge across the portfolio.
- Deep expertise in NSX and experience with NSX migrations.
- Understanding of the products and services that integrate and complement NSX.
- Communicates complex topics to an audience who may possess limited functional/technical knowledge.
- Able to train and mentor others.
- An active listener, interprets and reads complex customer situations and adapts communications as needed.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Must be comfortable with up to 50% travel when required.

**Preferred Skills**:

- CCDP, CCNP, CISSP, VCP-NV or similar required.
- Ideally you hold a NSX, CCIE or VCIX-NV certification.
- Experience or good understanding of any of the following cloud management systems: OpenStack, vRealize Automation, vCloud Director (vCD), VMC, Azure, GCP.
- Awareness of Data Design, Application Design, Solutions Modelling, Role Design, Systems Integration, Services Design, IT industry standards and Systems Behavior.
- Knowledge of Business Modelling, Business Process Design, Architecture Principals Design, Architecture Views & Viewpoints Design, Building Block Design, IT Operations, Organization Design and Benefits Analysis.
