YOUR ROLE

As a CAD Engineer, you will play an essential role in turning ideas into manufacturable designs for our bioprinter platform. You will take early prototypes and concepts from our R&D lead and turn them into detailed assemblies ready for production. This position involves close collaboration, rapid prototyping, and design optimization, as well as close interaction with manufacturing partners.

Your responsibilities include:

·     Translating engineering workflows into clear requirements and 3D CAD assemblies.

·     Designing bioprinter and printhead components with a strong focus on
manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and industrialization
.

·     Creating and optimizing drawings for CNC machining, 3D printing, and other prototyping methods.

·     Engaging in technical discussions with manufacturers to ensure feasibility and quality.

·     Using simulation tools to validate and refine designs.

·
Applying design-for-minimal-parts and cost optimization

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone with proven experience in mechanical design for mechatronic systems with controlled, multi-axis motion. You should be comfortable taking concepts and prototypes and turning them into detailed, manufacturable designs. You bring:

·     A degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or a related field.

·     Background in designing mechatronic systems that involve motion and assemblies.

·     Strong proficiency in
SolidWorks
, including PDM management.

·     Ability to perform
engineering calculations
to confirm whether parts and assemblies meet functional and structural requirements.

·     Expertise in optimizing designs for CNC machining, 3D printing, and other prototyping methods.

·     Hands-on familiarity with 3D printing for rapid prototyping and transitioning designs to metal when needed.

·     A collaborative approach and openness to frequent design iterations and discussions with manufacturers

Bonus points for:

• Knowledge of cost optimization and design-for-assembly principles.
• Experience with simulation tools such as FEA and CFD.

We adhere to the collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 2.668,69 (14x p.a., full-time equivalent) and are open to overpaying based on qualifications and experience.
