For our headquarters in Vienna, we are seeking a
Director Biomedical Engineering (m/f/d)
to lead and oversee our biomedical engineering strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and further development of the Biomedical Engineering division within national and international project environments
  • Technical leadership in the conceptualization, planning, and specification of medical equipment across all project phases
  • Development and implementation of standards, processes, and guidelines for equipment planning and procurement
  • Management of complex tendering and awarding procedures, including contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Close coordination with clinical users, planners, architects, MEP engineers, and project leads to ensure seamless integration of biomedical solutions
  • Monitoring compliance with international standards, legal requirements, and safety regulations
  • Budget responsibility, schedule control, and risk management within the department
  • Leadership and development of interdisciplinary teams, including support for training and continuing education
  • Analysis of technological trends and integration of innovative solutions into project standards

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
  • Extensive leadership experience in medical equipment planning, project development, or hospital operations
  • Profound understanding of clinical processes, medical device architecture, clinical workflows, and regulatory frameworks
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international standards and technical regulations
  • Demonstrated success in managing international projects and leading diverse, intercultural teams
  • Proficiency in planning and project management tools, with preference for experience in BIM environments
  • Willingness to undertake international travel and effectively manage teams and projects across multiple locations
