Our Surgical Operating Unit is a newly established, dynamic unit combining the expertise and product portfolios of Surgical Robotics and Surgical Innovations. Guided by the Medtronic Mission, we are the first soft tissue surgical company offering open, laparoscopic, robotic, and digital solutions. From reducing surgery time to accelerating healing, our advanced solutions play a crucial role in daily healthcare delivery.
The Surgical Robotics Utilization Team plays a key role in supporting the successful installation, start-up, and integration of the Hugo Surgical Robot in hospitals. As an Associate Start Up Specialist, you will work alongside experienced professionals to help ensure smooth adoption of this innovative technology by assisting with system setup, user training, and operational support.
This role is designed for ambitious individuals looking to kick-start their careers in medical technology, healthcare operations, and surgical support. You will gain valuable on-the-job training at our state-of-the-art training facility in Belgium, and work closely with hospital teams, including surgeons, nurses, and administrators, to support the implementation of robotic-assisted surgery.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Partner and engage with hospital teams and support them in setting goals for the successful adoption of the Hugo RAS System.
- Assist in organizing and attending meetings with key hospital stakeholders to track progress and ensure smooth implementation.
- Support the coordination of surgeon training programs, including scheduling off-site training sessions and arranging for expert guidance during their initial cases.
- Help develop training plans for hospital staff, ensuring they receive the necessary education and hands-on support to confidently use the robotic system.
- Gain hands-on experience by observing and assisting during robotic-assisted surgeries, supporting surgeons and staff as they become comfortable with the technology.
- Work alongside Medtronic field service engineers (FSEs) and hospital teams to prepare operating rooms for robotic surgery.
- Track key project milestones and document the impact of the surgical robotics program.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or Medical Technology or other technical field.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Eager to learn and passionate about medical technology and surgical innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a hospital environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude in tackling challenges.
- Willingness to travel within the region (up to 75% travel).
- Ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented way, with a focus on patient safety and efficiency.
- Driving license
Yearly targeted salary starting from € 45.000,00 with the willingness to market-based overpayment depending on professional qualification and experience (Information only for Austria).
