Director (f/m/d) – Electrical Commissioning

Location: Vienna with project-based on-site presence across Austria; international assignments possible

Our client is an internationally active provider of data center services. The organization supports complex large-scale projects ranging from 1 to over 100 MW and offers deep expertise in commissioning, quality assurance, and technical project delivery. To further expand the Austrian operations, we are seeking to fill the following key role:

Director (f/m/d) – Electrical Commissioning

Your Responsibilities

  • Assume full technical and operational responsibility for Electrical Commissioning across advanced data center projects, including Level 1-5 testing, QAQC management, and technical project coordination
  • Review and approval of technical designs, submittals, and project documentation; ensure adherence to all standards, specifications, and compliance requirements
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and actively support the acquisition of future project phases
  • Coordinate and participate in FAT, SAT, and IST activities; develop project-specific test procedures and provide support in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Enhance commissioning workflows, quality processes, and best practices
  • Close collaboration with EMEA Team Leads and active participation in technical, operational, and strategic meetings
  • Build, lead, and further develop the local engineering team while fostering strong integration with the wider EMEA organization

Your Profile

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (HTL, University of Applied Sciences or University)
  • Valid Austrian trade license (Gewerbeberechtigung) for electrical engineering
  • Several years of experience in commissioning or technical project management within data centers, building services, industrial plants, or power engineering
  • Solid technical expertise in systems such as UPS, generators, MV/HV and LV power distribution, chilled water systems, HVAC, BMS/EPMS/ECS
  • Experience with QAQC processes, test procedures, documentation, and working within international project structures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; hands-on mindset and a commitment to technical excellence
  • Willingness to travel for FAT/SAT testing and occasional international assignments
  • Fluency in German and English
