CE Legal advises regional management on all legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and restructurings, strategic partnerships, and the implementation of group-wide governance requirements. Our team also collaborates closely with the local legal departments and the respective Group Function.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel with a strong background in the insurance industry to join our team.

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be a key contributor to the Allianz Central Europe regional legal team. Your responsibilities will include leading and managing M&A projects, providing guidance on contracts and commercial law matters, and delivering business-oriented legal advice to safeguard the company's interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Working within a small, dynamic team, you are expected to take initiative and operate independently. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in promoting community building and sharing best practices throughout the region

What You Do

• Provide expert legal advice and support to the regional management on all legal matters, including corporate, commercial and insurance (supervisory) law.
• Manage and oversee legal aspects of projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery of legal services.
• Lead, manage, and advise on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, and other strategic initiatives such as bancassurance partnerships.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including but not limited to intercompany and external service agreements.
• Ensure appropriate governance in Allianz Holding eins GmbH and the CE region, develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure best practices and compliance.
• Implement the evolving regional operating model, identifying areas for improving effectiveness and efficiency, reducing complexity.
• Foster a collaborative environment within the legal team, Allianz Holding eins GmbH and across the Region.

What You Bring

• Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Fluent in English. Business fluency in German or other languages in the CE region would be an advantage.
• Forward-thinking approach to legal practice, with an emphasis on strategic thinking.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong team player and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with col-leagues from different backgrounds, functions, and cultures.
• Collaborative and proactive mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Being resourceful: able to manage large responsibilities within a small team. Good ability to work autonomously
• Basic familiarity with available AI tools such as ChatGPT

Annual gross salary: 110,000 EUR (full-time basis). Overpay is possible in case of and depending on appropriate experience, qualifications and commitment.
