In this strategic design role, you will define mechanical system architecture, guide design decisions, and ensure seamless integration across engineering disciplines. Your work will influence product performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability, supporting everything from handheld wireless devices to women's health and beyond. You will also be responsible for developing thermal interfaces and optimizing passive cooling strategies to ensure efficient heat distribution across the system.

What You'll Do
Define and lead mechanical architecture for ultrasound probes guide design decisions, and ensure seamless integration across engineering disciplines
Develop thermal interfaces and optimize passive cooling and heat distribution
Your work will influence product performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability
Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
Drive system-level decisions and ensure design integration
Support product lifecycle from concept through validation
Establishes product requirements (internal and external), defines components and sub systems making up the overall architecture. Provides forward looking strategy for platforms and technology development / insertion to make product competitive. Defines and provides scope management. (defines the what)
Includes indirect people management responsibility through project coordination.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Systems thinking and several years experience in complex product development
Knowledge of thermal management, materials, and mechanical systems
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Legal authorization to work in Austria
Fluent English (German is a plus)
