Queensland, AustraliaJob Family Group:Production Engineering UpstreamWorker Type:RegularPosting Start Date:December 10, 2025Business Unit:Integrated GasExperience Level: Early CareersJob Description: What's the roleThe Mechanical Technician assists the maintenance team to deliver safe, quality and efficient mechanical maintenance across the LNG facility.Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, your roles include:Perform the Permit holder role; including isolation reviews, risk assessment development / review and hold toolbox talks.Intervene on unsafe acts / safety concerns.Provide inputs into improving safety, quality and procedures / processes.Execute/perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on plant and equipment, ensuring safety and quality.Maintain maintenance records to a high standard within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Provide assistance in major maintenance works such as shutdowns and equipment overhauls.This role is based on Curtis Island with a daily Ferry commute of 20-30 minutes average, ideally you should come from Gladstone or the surrounding area.What you bring A Mechanical Trade background and significant post trade experience are essential. Additional Qualifications or skills such as a PSV Overhaul / testing, flange management, turbo machinery experience, confined space and working at heights accreditation would be highly regarded.Ideally, you'll also have mechanical maintenance experience in at least one of the following industries: Major Hazard Facilities, LNG; Cryogenics, hydrocarbon processing plant are desirable.To be able to carry out this role effectively you must be able to work as part of a team to develop ideas and solutions to both simple and complex problems.Working to high safety and quality standards is essential to our success, while ensuring that Personal Safety and Asset Integrity is maintained on our journey to GOAL ZERO.APPLICATION PERIOD WILL RUN UNTIL DEC-24.What we offerYou bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
