About the Collingwood Football Club Collingwood Football Club (CFC) was founded in 1892. Local residents, community and business leaders and politicians all hoped that having their own football club could help bring a measure of pride to a downtrodden suburb. In 2025, CFC is one of the great icons of Australian sport. Our history spans 130 years, 16 premierships and more finals appearances than any other club. Most importantly, Collingwood has grown from being a football club to a sports club with a commitment to our community. The opportunity Reporting to the AFLW Doctor and the Executive General Manager - Women's Football, the VFLW Doctor will provide medical care and services for all VFLW players during training and match days throughout the season. This role ensures compliance with AFL Anti‑Doping regulations and oversees treatment, medications, and procedures to maintain player health and safety. Key responsibilities The VFLW Doctor will attend one training night per week. The VFLW Doctor will attend each match day. The VFLW Doctor will be responsible for all medical services and care of Collingwood VFLW players on training nights and match day. The VFLW Doctor will provide all medical services for all VFLW pre‑season and in‑season games across 2026 season. The VFLW Doctor will keep abreast of and ensure compliance with rule and regulations under the AFL Anti‑Doping code, including compliance with ASADA, WADA and other rules and regulations regarding medical treatment services, procedures, medications and/or supplements, and will do all things necessary to ensure that the Club complies with those requirements. About you Clinical Competence – Strong knowledge of sports medicine, injury management, and rehabilitation; ability to make quick, accurate decisions under pressure during games. Attention to Detail – Ensures compliance with AFL Anti‑Doping regulations and medical protocols; maintains accurate records of treatments and medications. Communication Skills – Clear and empathetic communication with players, coaches, and medical staff; ability to explain medical issues and recovery plans in simple terms. Integrity and Professionalism – Upholds ethical standards and confidentiality; ensures player welfare is prioritised over performance pressures. Adaptability and Problem‑Solving – Responds effectively to unexpected injuries or emergencies; adjusts treatment plans based on evolving player needs.
