Youth Voice - Council's youth reference group City of Boroondara – Boroondara Youth Voice – Hawthorn VIC The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this position on behalf of the City of Boroondara Boroondara Youth Voice program. Are you a young person with an interest in shaping your local community? Description Youth Voice is seeking passionate young volunteers to join Youth Voice, Council’s youth reference group. Youth Voice members will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of governance, attend council meetings, and report on important issues and challenges affecting young people in the community. Members will build skills relevant to engaging with local government, including providing feedback on council policies, strategies, and plans. Successful candidates must meet the following criteria: Commit to fortnightly meetings held on a Wednesday from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm Commit to 70% attendance Aged between 12 and 17 years Ability to work both collaboratively and independently within a team environment Have an interest in learning about Boroondara Governance Respect for diverse peoples and communities A positive and open-minded approach Volunteers who are Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander, other First Nations, culturally or linguistically diverse, LGBTIQA+, or members of the disability or deaf community are encouraged to apply.
