You’ll partner closely with internal teams to deliver a full range of tax services and use your expertise to resolve technical tax issues. This role offers a strong blend of hands‑on compliance, advisory exposure, and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to influence practical, commercially sound tax outcomes. Your Impact Lead the preparation, review and lodgement of income tax returns and indirect tax compliance deliverables, including GST and FBT Prepare and review periodic tax calculations, including tax payable, deferred tax balances, movements and tax effect accounting Maintain accurate tax journals and balances within the general ledger and support tax inputs into budgets, forecasts and management reporting Support the calculation and reporting of the Group’s effective tax rate and related disclosures Provide timely, accurate technical advice on direct and indirect tax matters, supporting key business initiatives and transactions Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to deliver practical tax outcomes Liaise with the ATO and SRO to manage routine queries, reviews and audits, escalating matters to the GM where required Support and strengthen tax governance, risk management frameworks and reporting obligations Build tax capability across the business through advice, knowledge sharing, training and continuous improvement of tax processes and systems What you’ll bring Australian undergraduate degree and membership of a professional institution (e.g., CA/CPA, Tax Institute) 4+ years post‑qualification experience, ideally from a Big 4, Mid‑Tier or a large corporate in‑house tax team Broad knowledge of Australian corporate income tax law, GST law and Australian accounting standards Extensive hands‑on experience in corporate taxation compliance, tax effect accounting, and tax technology Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, practical terms Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across finance and the broader business A self‑motivated, enthusiastic team‑player with a proactive mindset who can manage competing priorities under tight deadlines Masters of Taxation (desired) Why Aveo?
