Executive Director, Transformation Portfolio Strategy

Executive Director, Transformation Portfolio Strategy & Execution, Global Transaction Services, WIB – Westpac Institutional Bank What’s the role? Sitting in the Global Transaction Services line of business, you’ll be the driving force to deliver on our strategic customer outcomes through our Transformation investment pools. This role includes leading complex Transaction Banking & Payments programs that enable our ‘Real time advantage’ for customers and deliver value. You’ll guide strategy, steer delivery, and make sure every initiative lands with impact. This includes efficient governance, effective prioritisation and alignment with strategic objectives for the line of business and appropriate alignment and engagement into Divisional and Group practices. Additionally, you will enable the strategy and support complex discovery for GTS strategic initiatives including scoping, current state assessment, target state design, roadmaps and business cases. You will also drive a cultural shift and consistency in ‘ways of working’ across the portfolio and ensure the capability uplift of our transformation people is a key focus. You’ll ultimately be the go-to for making sure GTS transformation is smooth, smart, and seriously impactful for our customers. What do I need? You’ll have experience in Transaction Banking & Payments, preferably in Business or Institutional banking, and will hold valuable experience in leading and delivering large-scale complex transformation with confidence and clarity. You’ll be a seasoned leader with experience managing large teams across diverse portfolios. You’re a natural collaborator who brings people together across functions and levels. You’re a master at balancing strategy, delivery, and governance without losing sight of the customer. You have excellent stakeholder management skills – you’re confident influencing at MD and General Manager level and building strong, collaborative relationships. You can navigate complexity, prioritise ruthlessly, and keep things moving – as a true delivery practitioner, you will be able to lead the delivery function while keeping a tight handle on the tools.
